This research analyzes the integration of local wisdom of the Banjar and Dayak Meratus communities into environmental law policies in South Kalimantan. Using a normative legal approach, the study examines the framework of national and regional legislation as well as policy documents related to environmental protection and management in South Kalimantan, particularly in the Meratus mountain region. The findings indicate that although there is normative recognition of the existence of indigenous peoples and local wisdom, implementation at the policy and practical levels remains limited. This article discusses the legal opportunities and challenges in integrating local wisdom into environmental law policies in South Kalimantan and provides recommendations for strengthening regulations to ensure that the environment in areas that serve as sources of local wisdom in Meratus will remain preserved and protected.
