Character education plays an important role in shaping students’ personalities to become morally upright, have integrity, and be rooted in the cultural values of the nation. However, the rapid flow of globalization and technological advancement has brought challenges, including the weakening of character and cultural identity among the younger generation. This community service activity aims to implement character education based on local wisdom as an effort to shape students’ personalities. The implementation method includes stages of preparation, socialization, execution, and evaluation. The activities were carried out through the dissemination of character values, learning assistance, discussions and reflections, as well as the practice of local culture such as folklore, traditional games, and communal cooperation activities. The results of the activity indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of character education values and local wisdom. Students began to show positive behavioral changes, such as increased discipline, responsibility, honesty, cooperation, tolerance, and social awareness. In addition, this program produced a contextual local wisdom-based character education module that can be used as a teaching guide by teachers. The utilization of local wisdom has proven to be effective as a medium for character education because the values taught are closely related to students’ daily lives and are easy to apply. Despite some obstacles, such as limited time and the initial lack of understanding among some participants, this activity has provided positive educational and social impacts. Therefore, character education based on local wisdom can serve as a strategic and sustainable approach to shaping students’ personalities and strengthening the nation’s cultural identity.
